Pearlessence had a website designed to showcase their reed diffusers and other spa products, but it needed a redesign to meet the business’s goal of selling more products online. Their website had a shopping cart function although it did not appear to be an e-commerce site as it was designed.
First, I studied the content for the website and created a new site map which logically organized the products into categories. I also suggested adding more information about the products. I worked on wireframes for the shopping pages, which included general content about each product category in the left column of the page.
I designed the interface of the site following the calm, spa branding for Pearlessence. The web site design focused on the products. The home page was designed with an animation which displayed their newest products, with more featured products in four boxes below the animation.
Pearlesence was very pleased with the website. After the website was live for six months, my client reported that the numbers proved that the new site had a positive impact on their sales.
